The Phi Theta Kappa Advisor of the Year Award is a new award for the SC Technical College System. The winner will be a chapter advisor who, in his/her most recent year of service, has demonstrated excellence and commitment to the Phi Theta Kappa mission.
The mission of Phi Theta Kappa is to “recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and; Provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.”
Nominees will be scored in five categories – 1) Student growth and development, 2) Chapter growth and development, 3) Local impact, 4) Student support, and 5) quality of nomination. Nominations will be reviewed using a blind scoring process.
Each college may submit one individual nominee. If your college has co-advisors for PTK, the nomination may be submitted to reflect the work of the advising team. One (1) winner – an individual or advising team - will announced at the Phi Theta Kappa ceremony on April 27, 2017. All nominees will be acknowledged at the ceremony and online.
